As of today the president of the U.S.A officially declared OUT of the Paris Agreement. This agreement was signed by 196 countries on the 12th of December 2015 in Paris with the goal to reduce the effects of climate change globally and to limit the Earth’s temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius.
The cause behind Trump’s decision is thought to be creating an opportunity to renegotiate the entire agreement, which according to Trump is unfair for the people and companies of his country. Trump in fact stated he’s “willing to immediately work with Democratic leaders to either negotiate our way back into Paris under the terms that are fair to the United States and its workers or to negotiate a new deal that protects our country and its taxpayers”. I obviously disagree with Trump’s decision but I also feel like it is a bad move not only for the environment but for America too : see if the U.S.A really exits the agreement the ‘exiting’ procedure will take up to 4 years which, is as long as Trump’s mandate! WUTT!? Yep, I don’t see much sense in it either…
BUT HOW WILL THIS DECISION EFFECT THE PLANET?
Having America, a world leader in pollution, exiting the agreement would lead to having devastating effects on the environment: in simpler words – WE WOULD GO BACK IN TIME. But ladies and gentlemen the truth is we don’t have much time to keep the climate problem under control. For the time being let’s wait to hear Trump’s final decision and let’s hope he’ll change idea, for his people and his planet.
Respond to TRUMP V.S THE PLANET?
